Our minimal, sun-filled space is inspired by mid-century desert design—warm, clean and effortlessly beautiful.
More than just a salon, Black Orchid Studio is also home to a curated plant shop and vintage clothing boutique, making every visit a little escape and a little adventure. With easy parking, natural light pouring in, and a relaxed yet elevated atmosphere, we’ve created a space where great hair meets beautiful living.

Hi, I’m Jessie! I’ve been doing hair since 2009, bringing a creative, fashion-forward approach to every client who sits in my chair. I originally studied fashion design in Detroit, Michigan, which shaped my eye for detail, texture, and personal style. I earned my cosmetology license at The Aveda Institute in Chicago, grounding my work in high-level technique and quality.
I specialize in men’s and women’s cuts, razor and textured cuts, lived in, low maintenance colors, rich brunettes and soft, dimensional balayage. I love creating hair that feels effortless, wearable and uniquely you!
Outside of the salon, you will find me seeing live music, hiking and camping or riding my bike. I’m a proud pet mom to my two Sphynx cats Gus and Roo and dogs Elwood and Lola who keep my world full of love and joy! Great hair should feel personal, easy and fun — and I’d love to help you find your look. I can’t wait to see you in my chair!

Hi I’m Sarah! I completed cosmetology school in 2008 and immediately knew I wanted to specialize in hair extensions. That same year, I earned my first certification and I’ve continued building on that foundation ever since — completing more than 12 advanced color courses and studying with some of the industry’s leading extension educators across the country. Continuing education is something I invest in every year, because my clients deserve it.
I help clients achieve beautiful, confidence-boosting hair through customized color and natural-looking extensions. Whether you’re looking for added fullness, length, or a complete transformation, my goal is always healthy, seamless results that fit your lifestyle.
What I love most about this career isn’t just creating beautiful hair — it’s creating an experience. I love getting to know the people in my chair and building relationships that last for years. After 18 years serving wonderful clients in Greenwood Village and the south Denver area, I’m especially excited to join Black Orchid Studio. I’ve called Denver’s Skyland neighborhood home since 2016, and it’s incredibly meaningful to now have the opportunity to serve my own community.
Outside of the salon, you’ll usually find me exploring Colorado’s mountains and rivers, catching live music, or traveling the world with my husband. When we’re home in Denver, we love spending time with our dog, Ginger, entertaining friends, and tending to our garden. I can’t wait to welcome you into my chair!
